[ARCHIVED] Lead and Copper Testing for Hanover NH Public Water System

water glass

The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Lead and Copper Rule, now imposes new requirements on public water systems. As a result, the Town of Hanover is now required to have 80 new sample sites throughout our water distribution system. These sites must be an accurate representation of the entire distribution system and include residential as well as commercial services.  The purpose of these sites is for us to be able have the water tested for the harmful contaminants, lead and copper.

We are asking for volunteers to have their water tested by the town. For those who agree to having your water tested, we will drop off a sample container the night before sampling and pick them up the next day. The sample container will include simple instructions and all you would have to do is fill the jug the morning of sample day and have it ready when we return to pick it up or leave it outside the front door for us to pick up. Once we have all the samples collected, we will send them to the lab for analysis. When the town receives the results for each sample site you will be notified, and those results will be shared with you.

If you would like to participate in Hanover Water Department’s Lead and Copper testing, please contact Leah Lucas leah.lucas@hanovernh.org  , 603-643-3327 Test to sign up.

If you have questions or need additional information please contact Dylan McDermott (603)640-3238 dylan.mcdermott@hanovernh.org or Christina Hall (603)640-3384 christina.hall@hanovernh.org and we can go into further details about sampling instructions, dates of sampling and answer questions you may have.

Thank you very much for your consideration,
