265 Years of Hanover
On July 4, 2026, Hanover Turns 265
This year, not only do we celebrate America 250, we celebrate Hanover 265. The town of Hanover received its royal charter on July 4, 1761 and has since become the diverse and flourishing community we know today.
Land Acknowledgement
Hanover is a part of N'dakinna, which is the traditional ancestral homeland of the Abenaki, Pennacook and Wabanaki Peoples past and present. We acknowledge and honor with gratitude the land and waterways and the alnobak people who have stewarded N'dakinna throughout the generations.
With Thanks to the Indigenous New Hampshire Collaborative Collective.
