Residents have been receiving information in the mail from Casella and the Town of Hanover regarding changes to the curbside recycling program. Please note that containers may no longer be placed out the night before pickup due to changes in the Solid Waste Management Ordinance (PDF). We apologize for any confusion as the information was compiled prior to the change in ordinance.
Casella is working on delivering toters to replace the smaller bins, which you may keep. You may return them to us at the Public Works Facility (194 Lebanon Street) if you would like for us to recycle them for you.
The main changes that will take place effective September 28, 2020 follow:
Collections will take place every other week on the service days highlighted in blue on the calendar beginning September 28th. Your collection day of the week will not change, however, the week may change. For some locations, this will result in pickups for two weeks in a row for the weeks of September 21st and 28th.
Glass will no longer be accepted as part of the program.
We understand there are many questions surrounding these changes. Please refer to these FAQs (PDF) for more information.
